Art does not come easy to every one, however with a little direction and tips coming from experience the most complex piece of work could be easy and fulfilling.
I am an art teacher who would like to promote creativity because it is the bases of intelligence. Solving the little problems while doing a craft project, brainstorming to come up with an original idea for a picture or design for your 3d construction all help exercise one’s brain for all other subjects. We must not exclude the boost a project well done gives to students.
Here you will find illustrated instructions on projects that have been successful for me with different age groups. You will also find various tips how to adapt a project according to the capabilities of each individual. I am used to classes of around 20 or more students at a time so my methods are adapted accordingly to make the process feasible in a crowded environment. Members are welcome to leave their own ideas and comments to help each other solve problems. I’m also here to learn more and better my own work so feel free to join in whether you are a professional or just interested to do something fun at home.

The simplest of materials can be used to make decorations for christmas. These are simple candles that can be used as a table centre or any little corner where you would not dare put a flame but a candle would still look nice.

Salt dough is great fun and a project can be adapted to any level of skills. This is what I chose for my son to do as his first complete project.
This is how my little boy is preparing for Christmas this year. We start early so that we have time for mistakes and he can enjoy a project when mummy has more time. These will stay in good shape as long as they are kept dry. A final coating of clear drying glue will help give a good finishing result. (Lacquer is also good if a grown up is doing it).

Making decorational paper spheres sounds like an interesting idea. This year I was thinking about the commercialism of Christmas, the decorations and all the extra garbage we create. This makes me sad however I want the decor and the festive environment. I love to be eco friendly but not at the cost of enjoying Christmas. So this year I'm starting preparations early so that I don't end up with cheap store bought decorations which I'll probably find an excuse to change and throw them away next time I pull them out.
With this in mind I'm adding some new ideas one can use.

Children love painting however they need experience to learn how to handle paints and paintbrushes. Ideally their first paintings encourage them to try again and enjoy painting as much as possible. While painting they discover colours, textures as well as form.
